Attorney Ana Ventura Phares served for 20 years both as the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)/ADA Compliance Officer and EEO senior analyst for County of Santa Cruz in California. She works with clients in the following areas:
- Harassment prevention training (AB1825) for supervisors and employees
- ADA reasonable accommodation interactive process training
- Anti-discrimination training for supervisors and employees
- Integrated disability accommodation management (FMLA/ADA/FEHA)
- Workplace EEO investigations
- EEO/ADA compliance plans
- EEO recruitment and selection process review
For 20 years at the County of Santa Cruz, Ms. Ventura Phares conducted EEO workplace investigations, responded to EEOC and DFEH claims of discrimination, provided training in harassment prevention training (AB 1825) for supervisors and employees, and ADA accommodation process training, managed integrated disability accommodations requests (ADA,WC,FMLA) and monitored recruitment and hiring processes to ensure EEO and non-discrimination and promote diversity. Ms. Ventura Phares also developed many EEO/ADA plans for the County of Santa Cruz, which included cultural competency plans related to customer/clients services. Ms. Ventura Phares is bilingual and has conducted employee trainings to local agencies and non-profits in Spanish as well.
Ms. Ventura Phares also served for eight years as a council member and mayor for the City of Watsonville. Prior to her public service, she served on various related city commissions and community boards. Currently Ms. Ventura Phares serves on the Board of Directors for the Dignity Health Dominican Hospital and on the Catholic Charities Board for the Diocese of Monterey.
